Documentary Film (Co-Producer), Integrated Brand Architecture, Design, and Crowdsourcing Project

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Class of 2032 is a dynamic documentary and crowdsourcing project that brings educators, students, and parents together to discuss and shape the future school experience. This initiative includes a documentary film, branding, a mobile application, and professional development workshops, all aimed at fostering a forward-thinking dialogue about education. The Class of 2032 project leverages the power of crowdsourcing and documentary storytelling to inspire and inform the educational community about the evolving landscape of K-12 schooling. By combining interactive technology with real-world insights, the project aims to create a rich dialogue about how education can adapt to meet the needs of future generations.

In my role as Creative Director and Co-Producer (with Matthew Worwood, director), I was responsible for designing the comprehensive narrative, brand architecture, and visual identity for the Class of 2032 project. This included the creation of the logo, identity, color palette, and style guide, which were applied to the project’s time-based media (the film, motion graphics, title sequence, credits), workshops, website, presentations, and marketing materials. The goal was to create a consistent and innovative brand identity that would effectively communicate the film and project mission and values across the film, print, digital, and interactive supporting materials. The design effort received international recognition, receiving the Best VFX and Color for an International Documentary Award at the Hollywood North Film Awards in Toronto, Canada. The project was initially launched in 2015, at the New Media Consortium Conference Five-Minutes-Of Fame Session and was awarded a University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts Dean’s Grant ($3,500) that went toward project development, technology, and support of six student internships on the project.

"Class of 2032: Schooling for a Digital Culture" debuted in a screening at Bethel Cinema on June 6, 2018 and was distributed internationally via Amazon Prime Video in 2019.
