PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Law Unmasked is a documentary film directed by Ndidi Moses and produced by the Connecticut Bar Association - Connecticut Chapter (CBA), capturing the profound experiences and challenges faced by Connecticut citizens during the 2020 pandemic. The film highlights the legal community’s response to these unprecedented times, providing a historical perspective on the pandemic's impact and detailing the adjustments made to keep the legal system functioning.

As the creator of the film’s Integrated visual identity, I developed the logo, color palette, typography, marketing materials, and website design, ensuring a cohesive and impactful brand architecture for the project. Additionally, the project supported three student internships through a $1,500 grant from the CBA, with two positions specifically designated for minority students from the UConn Stamford Campus, emphasizing my commitment to creating real-world, transformative learning opportunities and diversity and inclusion.

The design of The Law Unmasked plays a crucial role in its overall impact. The cohesive brand identity—across digital, interactive, video, and print—was meticulously crafted to ensure clarity, understanding, and brand impact. The visual elements were designed to enhance the documentary’s accessibility and engagement, making complex legal issues more comprehensible to a broad audience. The clean and professional design aids in presenting information in an organized and digestible manner, helping viewers navigate the documentary’s content effectively. The use of consistent typography and a well-defined color palette contributes to a cohesive viewing experience, making the documentary more approachable and informative. The distinctive logo and visual identity create a strong brand presence, making the documentary easily recognizable within the larger CBA branding. This consistency across all marketing materials and the website enhances the film’s credibility and professional appeal, ensuring it stands out in promotional settings and at the conference. The design’s focus on clarity and organization ensures that key information is highlighted and easy to follow. This is particularly important for a documentary dealing with complex legal issues, as it helps viewers retain critical points and understand the broader narrative.

The Law Unmasked premiered at the 2024 Connecticut Legal Conference, the largest annual gathering of legal professionals in the state, in June 2024, where attendees had the opportunity to view the documentary on an hourly basis from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This film serves as a crucial historical record, documenting the resilience and adaptability of Connecticut’s legal system during a global crisis and highlighting the importance of representation and equity in the legal profession.
